Hi All, First time here, so hi. I have an old CanonUC8 Hi camcorder and would like to transfer all my Hi8 tapes to DVD. I have a connecter Usb with the cables for my camcorder which i bought to connect to my PC, it's a Dazzle. What i want to know is if i can get the SOFTWARE ONLY for the VHS to DVD, without having to get the cable. I just want to transfer my Tapes to Mac, without having to fork out another 100€, so is it possible to JUST download the software??? Any help would be much appreciated.
Many thanks for your time. Hi tsantee, Thanks for the reponse. In fact the dazzle capture connector is for the PC, and is a USB 2 device. I managed to download a software from Elgato - Elgato Video Capture - but my Mac wouldn't recognize this when i connected it with the camcorder with the Dazzle device. I'll download Vidi, and see what happens.
I'm just looking for a software solution that will work with the Dazzle. I have another device, a silvercrest USB 2 Video Grabber, but again no luck with this either. It's looking like i'm going to have to buy a device with software package, but thought i'd ask on the forum, in the hope that their was a work around. Once again, many thanks for your time.

Once again, many thanks for your time. Mike I don't know which model of a Dazzle device that you have but the ones I knew about were DV capture units which is why I suggested Vidi. Apparently yours is something else. Go to and try out their VideoGlide application.

It works with many different devices that connect via USB 2.
